The grain on this birch board is gorgeous, and after one coat of food-grade oil it deepened into a warm honey tone. It's the right size for a quick lunch prep, and I've already used it as a charcuterie surface twice this week.
It’s so lightweight that I actually reach for it over my heavy plastic boards now, and the untreated birch surface has held up beautifully after a few rounds of oiling. The size is perfect for laying out a quick afternoon cheese spread, then flipping it over for dinner prep.
I was a little worried about the upkeep of an untreated board, but the oiling process was simple and now it's got a lovely warm patina. It's become my go-to for weekend charcuterie spreads, and the birch surface is sturdy enough for heavy chopping, too.
