Watching the indicator change color right in the pot with my eggs is oddly satisfying. Soft-boiled turned out perfect for my ramen, and it took the guesswork completely out of timing.

Boiled my first batch of eggs with this timer and the color change was surprisingly clear—soft, medium, and hard all turned out exactly as shown. It’s small enough not to crowd the pot, too.

I stuck this timer right in the pot with my eggs and watched it shift from light to dark—worked perfectly for soft-boiled this morning.
