The rice paper over the wire frame gives off such a warm, diffused light that my whole nightstand feels calmer. Knowing it’s been handmade in Gifu for 90 years makes that little orb feel even more special—it’s a tiny piece of craft that just sits there and glows.

It’s the softest little glow I’ve put in my bedroom—the rice paper diffuses the light so evenly that it feels like a tiny moon sitting on the nightstand. Took me a second to appreciate how lightly it rests on the wire frame, but now I catch myself staring at it every evening.
