The paper pad is what sold me—40 sheets of that thick, textured stock means I can actually practice washes without rationing every page. The 8 colors mix well enough for landscapes, and the whole kit fits in my daypack for sketching at the park.

Finally got to take this set on a weekend trip and the 10" x 14" paper pad alone is worth it — plenty of room to paint without worrying about running out. The palette has nice deep wells, so mixing colors on the go feels less messy than I expected.

I’m a total beginner, but the 40 sheets of heavy paper gave me plenty of room to mess up and still practice. The 8 colors mix really well on the palette, and having everything in one box makes it easy to sketch outside.
